How to Find the Perfect Gift for Your Triathlete

You want to find the perfect gift for the triathlete in your life but when they start using 'tri-speak' you start to think....'maybe a sweater instead'.

To make matters worse, you walk into the store to find that there actually are 13 different types of goggles and you have no idea which one should go into the stocking.

Triathlon comes with a lot of equipment and with that, strong preferences on the type of equipment an athlete wants. Shopping can be overwhelming. Determine your budget 

You do anything from filling a stocking full of training essentials for under $30 to getting your athlete the bike of his/her dreams. The great thing about triathlon is that there is always something that the athlete needs or wants at any price point. Know exactly what you want to spend before you get started.

Get a wish list

A lot of gear comes down to personal preference and fit. For example, we only sell 4 brands of helmets in the store but within those, you will find a dozen different styles and price points. Most of the time, it comes down to the athlete's preference.  For the athlete, one brand may just 'feel' better on his/her head than another.

• Go through their gear! Typically once athletes find a brand they like, they typically stick with it. You can find brands, sizes, and more by snooping through their bags.
• Ask their friends. Triathletes talk a lot about their equipment and it's likely that the friends they train with will know every detail from nutrition to saddle preference!
• If your athlete shops at Podium or all3sports, we keep a record of their purchases. We can help you with sizing and brands.
